Privacy Policy

Thanks for choosing Elak.
Most privacy policies are written so you won’t read them. This one is short, and it’s in plain English, because you’re about to hand us a contract with your name on it and you deserve to know what happens to it.
Elak X-rays auto loan contracts and gives you a shareable cheat sheet, so you can understand what you signed — or what you’re about to.
To do that, we handle your contract and what’s printed on it. Here’s what happens to it.
Who we are
Elak is operated by StrongSolo Labs, a sole proprietorship based in the United States. When this policy says “we,” that’s who it means.
Elak is currently available in the United States only.

What we collect
Your contract. The file you upload, stored as you sent it.
What’s on it. Your name, the vehicle’s VIN, the contract number, and the state. The loan terms — the APR, the length, the amount financed, the down payment, the monthly payment, the fees, and each add-on and what it cost. The dealership’s name. Whether the vehicle is new or used, and the credit tier — both as the contract states it and as you tell us, if you adjust it.
We also store the analysis we produce from it.
Your email address. Collected when you pay, and used to create your account so you can sign in and find your scans.
A record of your visit. When you sign in, we store a session record of identifiers and timestamps. We do not log your IP address.
Basic analytics. Which pages were viewed, and a small number of events about how the product is used. These carry nothing from your scan.
Cookies. Three: one for security, one to keep you signed in, one for analytics.
How we use it
To produce your analysis. To take your payment. To let you sign in and find your scans again. To keep the service running and improve it.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not use it for advertising, and we run no advertising on Elak. We do not generate sales leads from it.
AI processing
Elak’s analysis runs on AI models accessed under commercial API agreements. Your document is provided to that AI provider to be read, and comes back as your analysis.
Under those agreements, your document is not used to train any AI model and is deleted on a limited schedule.
Service providers
Stripe processes your payment and is where your email address comes from. Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store them.
We also use providers for hosting, storage, email and error reporting. Each processes only what it needs to do its job, and none receives your data for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. Your contract and your analysis stay in your account for as long as you want them. Nothing expires on its own.
What deleting does
You can delete any scan from your account at any time. It happens straight away.
Gone for good: the file you uploaded, the preview image made for sharing, your name, the VIN, and the contract number. The scan’s link stops working. The connection between the scan and your account is severed — after this, nothing ties the record to you.
Kept, de-identified: the loan itself and the analysis built from it — the APR, the term, the amounts, the fees, the dealership’s name, the state, and the issues and questions we produced. These become part of the benchmarks Elak compares other contracts against.
We say de-identified rather than anonymous because the difference matters. The details that name you are gone, but a set of numbers is not nothing, and we’d rather say so than claim more than we can prove.
Also kept: your payment record, which we need for refunds, disputes and tax. Deleting a scan doesn’t close your account or remove your email — email us if you want that too.
One thing deleting can’t reach. When a scan link is shared, the app or site it’s shared into fetches a preview image and usually keeps its own copy. That copy is theirs, not ours — deleting your scan removes ours, and we can’t reach theirs.
Security
Your document is stored privately and isn’t reachable from the open internet. Everything we store is encrypted at rest. Everything travelling between you and us is encrypted in transit.
Access is limited to authorised personnel.
No service can promise perfect security, and we won’t. If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you.
Your choices
- Delete a scan. Any time, from your account.
- Delete your account. Email us and we’ll do it.
- Ask what we hold. Email us and we’ll tell you.
- Cookies. You can block them in your browser. The sign-in cookie is required to stay signed in.
Children
Elak is for adults signing auto loans. It isn’t directed at anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
We’ll update this page when what we do changes, and change the date at the top.
If a change materially affects information we already hold, we’ll email account holders and, where it matters, ask first. We won’t broaden what we do with your data by quietly editing this page.
